A rival is a peer or counterpart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allah forbids setting up rivals with Him as gods ,instead of him or besides him ,in many verses of the Quran. Major Shirk (Shirk Akbar &#8211; \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0643\u0628\u0631)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">This <strong>takes a person out of Islam<\/strong> and is the most severe form. It includes:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"auto\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Worshiping other than Allah<\/strong> (e.g., praying to idols, saints, graves, or anyone besides Allah).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Believing others share Allah\u2019s divine attributes<\/strong> (e.g., thinking someone has power over life, death, or the unseen).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Seeking help from spirits, the dead, or false gods<\/strong> instead of Allah.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Making dua (supplication) to anyone besides Allah<\/strong> (e.g., calling upon a prophet or angel for divine assistance).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Example from the Qur\u2019an:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">&#8220;And they worship besides Allah that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, &#8216;These are our intercessors with Allah.'&#8221; (Surah Yunus 10:18)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\"><strong>2. Minor Shirk (Shirk Asghar &#8211; \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0635\u063a\u0631)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">This does not remove a person from Islam but is still a <strong>major sin<\/strong>. It includes:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"auto\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Riya (Showing off in worship)<\/strong> \u2013 Doing good deeds for praise rather than for Allah.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Swearing by someone other than Allah<\/strong> (e.g., saying &#8220;I swear on my mother\u2019s life&#8221;).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Believing objects bring good luck<\/strong> (e.g., wearing amulets or charms believing they have power).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Hadith on Minor Shirk:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">The Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">&#8220;The thing I fear most for you is minor shirk: Arriya (<strong>Showing off in worship)<\/strong>.&#8221; (Albani)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\"><strong>How to Avoid Shirk?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol dir=\"auto\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Strengthen Tawheed (Oneness of Allah)<\/strong> \u2013 Always affirm that only Allah has ultimate power.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Rely Only on Allah<\/strong> \u2013 Seek help, guidance, and blessings only from Him.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Avoid Superstitions &amp; False Beliefs<\/strong> \u2013 Reject charms, horoscopes, and fortune-telling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Say Astaghfirullah &amp; Repent<\/strong> \u2013 If you ever commit an act of shirk, sincerely ask Allah for forgiveness.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Educate Yourself<\/strong> \u2013 Learn the difference between true Islamic belief and cultural practices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">Would you like more information on how to strengthen your Tawheed? \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/academy.nooralhidaya.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/nazar-amulet-amulet-nazar-bad-look-mk3qOvGzQ5h9G7bv.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Shirk ?
